SEBI Legal Officer: Phase I
The SEBI legal officer phase I is an online examination which includes two papers of 100 marks each. Paper 1 will be common for all the streams whereas the exam pattern of Paper 2 will vary according to various disciplines. Both papers will be MCQ based examination.
Paper 1: Phase 1 – Syllabus
Paper 1 for SEBI legal officer phase 1 is common paper for all streams and will be of 60 minutes of duration. The cut off is 30%. Remember the cut off is NOT sectional wise. The subjects include:
Test of Reasoning
There shall be a negative marking of 1/4th of marks assigned to the question for every incorrect answer.
Paper 2: Phase 1 – Syllabus
Paper 2 for SEBI legal officer will be of 40 minutes of duration. The cut off is 40%. Remember the cut off is NOT sectional wise. The subjects include:
SEBI Legal Officer: Phase II
SEBI Grade A Phase 2 will have two Papers: Paper I and Paper II of 100 marks each. Paper I and General Stream will be common to all. Candidates need to secure more marks in this phase as this would be taken into account for the final selection.
Paper 1: Phase 2 – Syllabus
This will be an English descriptive test to assess the drafting skills of the candidate. It will be of 60 minutes of duration with a cut off of 30% and the weightage of 33.33%. It includes:

This will be the Legal examination. It will be of 40 minutes of duration with a weightage of 66.67%.
SEBI Legal Officer: Phase III - Interview
Those candidates who would successfully qualify would be a call for Interviews. Candidates also have an option to choose their choice of language (Hindi or English) for the interview.
The final selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in both Phase II and the interview.
