The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) is the conducting body for West Bengal Judicial Services Examination. The examination will be held in three successive stages, viz. preliminary examination, final examination and a viva voce.



Applicants must have graduated in Law from a recognized central/state universities.

He/she must have a membership in the bar council.

Candidates able to speak write and read the Bengali language.

Candidates age must not less than 23 years and exceed 35 years as on the release of date via notification


Preliminary Exam

The Preliminary Exam of West Bengal Judiciary consists of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs). Each question carries one mark and the total time duration for preliminary exam for West Bengal Judiciary is 2hours and 30 minutes.


Mains Exam

The mains exam will be a conventional type written examination. The examination will have eight compulsory papers and three optional papers. The compulsory and optional papers will carry a total of 100 marks.


Viva-Voce/Personality Test

Selected candidates will have to attend the Personality test that is conducted for 100 marks. The final merit is prepared on the basis of marks secured in the mains exam and interview.
