Karnataka Judicial Services KJS Civil Judge exam is held in three successive stages, viz. Preliminary examination, Mains examination and a Viva voce for the post of Karnataka Judicial Service (Junior Division).

The syllabus of the mains for Karnataka Judiciary exam is as follows:
Paper – I: Law
Framing of Issues and writing of Judgments in Civil Cases
Framing of Charges and writing of Judgments in Criminal cases
Paper-IV: Translation paper
There will be one translation paper and the candidates will be required to translate passages in English into Kannada and Kannada into English. The Passages will be from (1) Depositions, (2) Judgments and (3) Documents.
Karnataka Judiciary Viva Voce: Karnataka Judicial Services KJS Civil Judge 2022
The candidates General Knowledge, grasp of principles of law and suitability for appointment as Civil Judge of Karnataka Judiciary shall be tested.
The marks of the Computer Test shall not be aggregated to the total marks obtained in the Main Written Examination and Viva-Voce. The test of knowledge of computers shall carry a maximum of 25 marks and such marks secured by the candidate shall be considered for ascertaining the suitability and computer knowledge of the candidates.

The result for the Karnataka Judiciary Exam for Civil Judge 2022 will be uploaded on the official website of the Karnataka High Court. Separate results are announced for each phase conducted and after which a final merit list is prepared of the students who have qualified. The final merit list of the candidates qualifying is prepared on the basis of the score obtained in the Main Examinations and the marks obtained in the Personal Interview/Viva Voce. However, the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not counted for the preparation of the final merit list and is only of qualifying nature.
